Man that sucks. I guess that this thing won't ever go away in Japan considering how crowded it can get in places there.

It's not just Japan. We've been moving towards an endemic stage of COVID-19 for the last year. It'll always be active, with seasonal peaks in various countries. We'll have yearly boosters for it just like we do for the flu.

Try Houston out .. and I work in a hospital as well and take care of patients, lol

I mean for most healthy people who are properly vaccinated it's usually a few days to a week of cold/flu-like symptoms. I just got over my third case of the bugger a couple of weeks ago, and honestly my quarantine/mask period lasted much longer than the actual symptoms did. It's people with preexisting conditions or who are in otherwise vulnerable populations where the disease can be much more serious.
