That's 2/3rds of the founders that have left PlatinumGames, though he did stay a lot longer than Shinji Mikami.

I suppose he can now block Platinum Games too.

I guess the next Bayonetta won't be the same without Mikami

Very doubtful - even Bayo 3 actually done mostly without any Kamiya involvement at all, where he done mostly supervising role and written part of the script.
But every other project (like Project G.G) is most likely doomed.

Platinum at one point felt like the Studio Trigger of game developers: fast, crass and more stylish than just about anyone else (when they weren't pumping out budget licensed games, anyway), but I feel that energy has been diminishing these last few years. Idk enough behind the scenes info to speculate on why that is, but hopefully this departure can allow both Kamiya and Platinum to peak once again

I know they're trying to be independent, but at this point they need to just be purchased by Nintendo or Sony. That way, they can just work on the stuff they want to with less stress.

I hope they still have enough good talent to develop the next Nier game.

Kamiya isn't even credited as working on the NieR games!
The thing that frustrates me the most about big outspoken personalities like Kamiya is that people act like he, and other auteurs like him, are the sole people responsible for anything that happens. Platinum Games has hundreds of employees, nearly all of whom are involved at some point in the pipeline on nearly all of their games. These games are the work of dozens of artists, composers, writers, and programmers who are still there even if one of their supervisors is gone. They'll be fine. Give the rest of the staff some credit for their work.

No, people seem to think that the Nier series is done by Platinum, when they only worked on Automata, AFAIK.

He'll probably be working for the Chinese companies, like other Japanese creators lately
