If they're really using ChatGPT, $20/month is the cost of a ChatGPT "Plus" account --- which you probably need for "unlimited chat".
Might be a nice app to have on your portable navi....

This feels like a particularly egregious example of losing the plot.

I mean, the guy who wrote the series started diving into the same conspiracy theory mindset he, himself, warned against. The series is genuinely great, but seemingly cursed today.

Not quite as bad as the AI chatbot that allows you to talk to Jesus!

Chiaki Konaka was always fruitcake-adjacent. When Abe and Ueda put together NieA_7 they modeled UFO-nut character Chiaki after him.

Nahh. ChatGPT and all that surrounds it (especially all the woo-woo) could be a whole new layer or two.

The irony in this is rich. . . but I love it, conceptually.

What's the difference between an AI chatbot and a regular chatbot?

Are people still upset he made fun of political correctness and cancel culture a few years ago?

Chatbots are rule-based systems that respond to text commands based on predefined rules and keywords. AI Chatbots use language processing, speech recognition, and machine learning to understand context and learn and improve over time. They can handle voice interactions and deliver more natural and human-like conversations.

I think saying they understand context is vastly overestimating their capabilities. There isn't any real intelligence here; it's still all applied statistics under the hood, just using a massive dataset in order to produce responses that are tuned to resemble what a human would consider to be a real conversation.

The lack of a copy-editor to remove the pleonasm.
Let's guess they meant a chatbot based on a large language model as opposed to chatbots based on older AI techniques (such as the rule-driven models that allnightclerk mentioned).
