This did look pretty awesome
and after replaying through the entirety of ff 1-10 recently I've realized how severely rose colored glasses can warp your past experiences... the OG FF 7 had a lot of disjointed scenes so im looking forward to the plot differences now

I replayed the original last year, and yeah. I love the game, but its got some wonky elements to its story and characters- not even considering how the expanded universe warped a lot of the cast. It is a classic, undeniably. But I'm not of the opinion that "classic" should mean "untouchable". There are definite improvements that could, and should, be made.

I didn't love everything about Remake, but I'm excited that the potential story here is blown wide open, and I have only a vague outline of what may occur. Its...an odd, but welcome, treat- visiting this world for the first time again.

Okay, that scene of medics loading Red XIII up into an ambulance -- complete with a little blanket -- was legitimately hilarious. I love it.

Still kinda bummed that this project ain't a faithful remake of the original, but at least it looks like they'll be going off the rails in a much more interesting way this time.
