One question: How will this work? Is it going to be something like a drama CD? Or will it be something like a motion or voiced comic?

Well, it says right there in the article, "The anime will feature actual synthesizers used in computer-controlled real-time animatronics." I'm guessing that the "sound only" part just means there won't be any voices, not that there won't be any visuals. |

Yes, the website has some extra details on that - basically the synthetizers are equipped with motors and software, and they're fully computer controlled, in movement as well as sound. So they'll be moving and making sounds as per the story, and the camera will record it. Anyway, I have a feeling I'm not the main target demographic here, but those little guys are really really cute! So I'll check out the show if I have an opportunity to do so. By the way, I haven't heard of this company before, but man, they have some really, really really weird products. I imagine they must be staffed by crazy genius anime/manga characters. |
