It's that time again. This time on "Who evaded taxes in Japan!". Today's contestant is Keiichiro Nishiura from C-lab (at the time of the crime). How much money is involved? 45 million yen (about US$335,000) and stated to be paid off.
What prior situation can this be compared to? Hikaru Kondo and ufotable for similar reasons. 138 million yen (about US$1.25 million) and stated to be paid off. Result: Kondo sentenced to 20 months in prison; sentence suspended for 3 years (if he remains on good behavior so he doesn't go to jail). Since "sentenced to x months in prison; sentence suspended for 3 years" is the typical ruling, based on the low tax amount (and this is the lowest compared to past incidents reported on ANN at least), Nishiura's sentence should be around 4-6 months (obviously with a 3 year suspended sentence). |

Probably not. They paid the money back, someone will probably go to jail, but it doesn't sound like the business is in jeopardy. Their customers will probably not even care or know about this. |
