Quote: | What's also neat trivia is that most of the voice actor pairs have a history from other series like Yūma Uchida and Junya Enoki. They also starred as Megumi Fushiguro and Yuji Itadori in Jujutsu Kaisen. |
Well... they made it less subtle than the Code Geass drama cd. No wonder Itadori and Fushiguro don't have love interests so far

To be fair, I think the goal of Pop Team Epic is for viewers to watch it and wonder what the hell just happened.

I miss the cute French guy too, as well as having two Bob Epic Team segments per episode, but other than that, I've been enjoying this season even more than the first one. This is the show I look forward to the most every week.

More than anything else, I think the secret spice of PTE just respect the viewer time more than most gag show. Most sequence are really short, they quickly establish the setting and immediately have the punchline. The few longer sequence are peppered with reference or small joke to make sure the viewer attention doesn't drift off. Other comedy joke might have better joke, but they'll take 3-4 minutes to set them up, during which I'm generally just bored and lose interest, which makes the punch line a lot less fun. I think you could have PTE without any of brashness and WTF moment and it would still be really good just for that.

UchuPeople is working on the new Pui Pui Molcar season, so don't expect stop motion segments this time.
The main animatior of the first season is currently helping out at the new stop motion studio at WIT, so he can't really animate this time like he did for seaspn one. One of the people at UchuPeople (Hana) actually helped him on that season, so it's definitely a good choice to havr them work on it.
It just so happened to be airing in the same season as PTE S2, and stop motion takes time lol
...Now gimme back B-Side Takeshobo.

If you visit King Record's YouTube Channel, they've posted voice actor's take on Bob Epic Team segments, so enjoy them while they last because they're likely to be extra content for the blurays.

Ironically, they just compensated for that by giving whole episode with just AC-bu.
And it was the best.

I like how the second segment ended with Koichi Yamadera complaining about doing all the work.
It's a shame we don't get more of the felt doll music videos in Season 2.
