Let's make one thing clear. As someone who's been following The Daily Wire lately, I have to say that I've never been a fan of Matt Walsh. But today, he totally crossed the line. Not all anime is satanic. And I'm sure if The Daily Wire hypothetically was acquired by Sony Pictures and became a sister company to Crunchyroll (which we all know will never happen), he'd be among the first to go.

The comment is quite obviously thoughtless, and the follow up response noted in the article is him trying to spin it off as a "it was obviously a joke remark, idiots" thing so people will leave him alone - or escalate so he'll get even more clicks, take your pick.
After this remark comes the less outrageous but equally thoughtless meme opinion that adults should just never watch cartoons except as a rare exception, because reasons. He's not the first, he sure won't be the last. There's a whole genre of pontificating where guys go and decide they're the arbiters of manliness, and so you better not do X or Y or Z because they say so and so please go watch football and learn how to cook a steak. Calling this "shallow" is the charitable way to put it. |

He says that adults shouldn't watch cartoons, even though originally cartoons had no target audience, I don't think it was until the 50s or 60s that they became aimed primarily at children.
