If the entire episodes are as visually well-done as the opening sequence clips, this is going to be a treat for the eyes. I am pumped!

Didn't expect them to release it early, but it's a beautiful Opening!
A little more laidback than the first one, but that makes the interplay between the Forgers' real selves and their happy family life together more poignant.

I am sorry to break your expectations, but that will not happen. This opening looks the way it does because it was directed by Tetsurou Araki, the director for the first 3 seasons of Attack on Titan. Not to mention that even for a split cour series, trying to keep the same level of quality as the opening for 12 episodes is impossible.
But overall, I love it. It gives even more of a cozy family vibe than the first one, and the focus on Yor is always really appreciated. And when you have a banger of an opening from Bump of Chicken as well? 10/10 for me, no questions about that.

I'm still a newbie (about a year), so my experiences and expectations come from elsewhere. If the focus will be more on the family and Yor, there's plenty of potential in those fields.

It looks nice but no where near as good as the first op.
Feels too much like a music video with very little excitement

I mean.... aren't all openings inherently music videos by definition?

To a certain degree but they are also meant to represent what the show is about and drum up some excitement which the first one excelled at. This one is fine but the bar was set pretty high.

Huh, that opening was pretty Yor-focused even tho I don't remember Yor being all that relevant in this portion of the story.
Anyway, visuals are gorgeous, the song is kinda meh, but maybe it'll grow on me.

I mean no matter how you look at it this opening is more ambitious in terms of visuals. From cahracter acting, layout composition to photography. The first one was more stylized and vibrant but also quite conservative animation wise.

I get the feeling that's the point. Throughout the OP, you can see flashes of Twilight doing his job, but not really spending as much time with the family, which makes sense considering the two major arcs they'll be adapting this cour. Since Yor and Anya don't really have starring roles in those arcs, I imagine the intent was to focus on them when Twilight isn't around.

Seem some people on Twitter and Reddit point out that most of the sequences from this OP could be understood as simply being from Loid's POV. So you could also interpret it as just him being more accepting of his family in general.

Yeah, a good number of shots in the middle are done like that. Specifically, starting from when Loid gets home around 30 seconds into the OP until around 1:00 in, when Loid is distracted by his work while at the festival (flashing to him firing a gun when he's aiming a toy rifle to win a prize). But before that and after, it would be a stretch to say the shots of Yor and Anya are from Loid's POV.

Looks great. Love the series. I will admit I do not understand the purpose of a credit-less credit sequence. That's 1:30 of content space.

Presumably it will have credits over it when the broadcast airs.

Because this is the clean version, which only shows the animation and not the credits. The one that will play with each episode will feature text overlays for the credits.
