No perm = no sale. I think they're confusing YYH with Crows Zero.

They’re not gonna set the story in modern times and give everyone dated haircuts.

I can accept the change. Now that leaves the ladies.
Also, yeah, their adapting the setting into the present is not impossible. Don't get surprised if the trailer shows Keiko scolding Yusuke through smartphone.

So my guess is this is the last of the main cast announcements for now? December 2023 is a long way off, so I presume they won’t be introducing everyone immediately.
I think this one will be the most contentious because of the hair and the lack of Kuwabara’s rougher features. Not a deal breaker, but definitely notable.

Why is Kuwabara more of a pretty boy than Kurama?

Cos Kurama didn't translate well with those colors. Then again they do feel like a tokusatsu team with those colors.

He looks nothing like Kuwabara. Kuwabara has rougher features and an overall imposing appearance (tall, broad shoulders, muscular) which I don't get at all from him and then the missing Pompadour...
It's always hard to properly capture anime/manga/video game character design but you at least got the feeling they were trying with the other three, this however? not really.

Wow. This is the worst one yet. Kuwabara is supposed to be a delinquent, not a pretty boy. He's supposed to be broad and ugly from all the fighting. This is so dumb.

It's funny you say that, because Kurama's actor has been in Super Sentai! He was the red ranger in ToQger.

If I’m being honest Kuwabara’s gonk features always made him look like the odd bunch of the main cast.

You can be a delinquent and still be a pretty boy.

Damn if that’s true he should’ve stuck to not fighting. He should also be a villain

The whole thing with Kuwabara is he’s supposed to be an example of deceiving appearances. Although to be fair I could easily see his actor leaning hard into his actions being a front for his true personality.
