certainly not, fans are just too entitled. I remember when Miura passed away, someone commented " well, guess I don't need to read this, as it will never be finished and I hate reading unfinished work.
in any case glad to hear he still doesn't seem discouraged and will sill push on ,despite not really needing to, but am very grateful to him.

Can't he clean up with a bidet? Or does his back prevent him from using the toilet properly, too?

Back pain is nothing to sneeze at.
I had sciatic nerv pain that lasted for a good 6 to 8 months. Took a few sessions with a criopractor to finally get things better.
Also don’t sit on your wallet when at work or traveling. That can really screw with the alignment of your spine. My uncle learned the hard way, just recently went in to have his spine fused this weekend.

Oh god yeah, back pain (or pain stemming from back problems; those aren't always the same thing) can make you completely unable to really do anything and if you do, it's hard to really focus on, let alone enjoy, that thing.
I had a partial paralysis in my leg for many weeks, coupled with excruciating pain, because I sat in a slightly off-kilter, uncomfortable chair and ignored how much it hurt my lower back, for months. Just to one day not be able to get up from that chair without help and being completely stranded and in pain for hours because I couldn't even reach my phone on the desk in front of me to let someone know and ask for help.
My bed was a few steps away too and I felt like that might help but my room felt concert-hall-sized and my chair felt like it was 5 meters up in the air. I legitimately couldn't get off that chair, no matter how hard I tried, until someone gave me a hand hours later. Truly bizarre moment.
So I absolutely don't blame anyone for being unable to work under similar circumstances.

Wow, honestly, hearing how bad his health clearly is makes me wish that he could take a permanent break and just take care of himself from now on. Manga, even really excellent manga, isn't worth the mangaka's health.

It's probably difficult for him to sit on the toilet - I wouldn't be surprised if he has to sort of hover over it. It'd be hard to design a bidet that could aid him in that position without getting water all over the floor.

Togashi really needs to take a permanent break for his health and kids I don't want him to die to overwork and kids losing their dad

I have always been a fan of HxH and have always been aware of his health problems, but I too was not aware on how bad it is where even his crouching or sitting position is that constricted..

Hopefully this can change the mind of at least one fan. Back/hip issues are no joke.
I'm just thrilled he's doing a little better and willing to continue HxH. Just hope he keeps feeling better.

The only nice thing about the situation is that it seems like he still finds joy in drawing HxH. Even knowing he did have health issues this was still blindsiding to hear. Hopefully it puts some of the Hiatus x Hiatus jokes to rest at least. I've been having mild back issues lately, should probably get that taken care of.
On the flip side, it's cool to see Yusuke and co. in his modern style.

Seriously. The more I read this, the more I went “Dude, just *stop*. You gotta take care of your health!!” It sounds like this is way past the point where this is gonna wind up being a chronic issue, and while it does sound like steps are being taken, I wish he would just take a sabbatical and prioritize his health. HxH has been on hiatus for so long now, is it really worth short term gains for long term issues?

Damn, that's rough. Maybe he should consider handing the series over to someone else so he can focus more on getting better.
