After watching Sonic 2, I wished for Streets of Rage movie with music by the Protomen. Halfway there! I wonder if it'll be stand alone or if they'll do any universe building with it.

What universe could they possibly build out of the Streets Of Rage games?
This isn’t like the Sonic series there are multiple characters who were getting their own games and comic books.

That's the thing that excites me. I would prefer them to pick games with very.little plot, because then we get(hopefully) a good original story. I think you could make a pretty fun SOR movie. Probably not the most deep story, but a fun popcorn flick. I mean, give a hand, SOR was pretty diverse with its characters. Blaze was one of the few female characters who could actually fight back, for one.

This honestly isn't a bad pairing of writer & property, should it actually result in an actual movie. SoR-by-way-of-John Wick makes a lot of sense, so hopefully this can actually get made.
Also, before anyone tries hoping, there's absolutely no chance that Yuzo Koshiro would ever score a Streets of Rage movie, at least one produced over in Hollywood. The best one could hope for is maybe Koshiro being allowed to compose one song (& even then I'm sure the studio would only use it during the end credit scroll), and most ideally maybe he could cameo in the theoretical film itself as a DJ during a fight scene in a club.

I would find it hard to believe a Streets of Rage film set in the current movie Sonic universe. I hope they intend a John Wick vibe.

Given its the same production company, this could be the same Earth as the Sonic movies. Not that I'd want a Sonic cameo or anything, but like a background mention of Sonic 2's opening scene during a news report while Axel's in a diner or something could be a fun Easter Egg.
Anyway, Nobody's a great movie and I've enjoyed the John Wick series so I'm pretty excited for this.

I guess of any game franchise, a Streets of Rage movie might not be that hard to pull off.
