Any reason why you didn't mention ADV's 2008 dub and release of "5 Centimeters Per Second"?

I already own all these titles expect for The Place Promised in Our Early Days that's been on my to buy list for years its always far to costly a bluray release would be a welcomed addition to the collection.

Likewise, I hope they include the Makoto Shinkai vocals for VODS (And maybe do a new English dub too, it's frankly awful)

I've always been fond of the Steven Foster directed dub of Voices of a Distant Star its quite underrated I feel.

I don't know how long any of these have been OOP - and I guess this mostly just applies to the Voices movie - but it's interesting to me how many titles Sentai has been dropping only to be picked up by someone else. Seems like the kind of movie you'd expect them to want to keep.

Just a guess but maybe Makoto Shinkais rise to increase fame has caused the value of his older works to increase in value as well, thus making them harder to license? he's come a long way from his days working on eroge lol

I'm not the biggest Shinkai fan in the world, but somehow I wound up with multiple copies of most of them: ADV's original DVDs of his first three films, Discotek's BD of 5 cm/s, and then I went to the trouble of importing Anime Limited's BD combo release of Voices and Place Promised. At least it's nice to see them available domestically. I might double-dip on the first two to finally get something that's Region A.

This is exciting news, especially for the cases of Voices and Place Promised, since neither of these two had been released on Blu-ray in the US yet.
I already own the respective Discotek & Sentai blu-rays for Centimeters and Children, but I'm curious to see what differences there may be in GKIDS' future releases.
