I tried emailing ANN's email address for news submissions, press releases, etc. listed here but I received a bounce message 2 hours later. Any idea why?
Alternatively, is there a thread here in the forums dedicated to submitting news? I see that the instructions say 'Do not submit news in the forum' but they also say 'If we receive a public tip ... from our forums'. So presumably some people do submit news somewhere here in the forums? |

Hi Kendall,
What was the error message you received when you sent to [email protected] ? As far as we know, the address is working fine. Our newsroom staff don't monitor the forum anywhere near 24/7, but they monitor [email protected] 24/7. If they see something in the forum, they'll report on it, and they'll credit the person who submitted it, but there's a good chance they won't see it right away. Most often the newsroom staff is monitoring talkback conversations related to already posted news articles, so they might notice a correction or addition in those conversations. -t |

the e-mail address was [email protected], right ?
I've tested that e-mail just now, sending e-mails from three other addresses on other domains, and it seems to work fine. There's the possibility that the fact that you're using a VPN service might have you tripping a spam filter. Did you send it through the e-mail address attached to this forum profile (Lo*******y@o******.com) ? If you sent it from another address, can you let me know the address (by PM if you want to keep it private). -t |

Yes, I was sending to newsroom@.
I'm pretty sure my VPN was on at the time so you're probably right about that tripping a spam filter. I didn't send from the email address I use for this forum (Lo*******y@o******.com). I used a different one. And now that I think about it, that address contains a 'sensitive' word that may have also tripped a spam filter. It's no big deal. I'll make sure I disable my VPN and send from another email address next time, and if I still get an error I'll let you know. Thanks for the help. |
