Interesting week, I haven't heard anything about Touken Ranbu Warriors but for a 3rd Party Switch game those numbers are pretty good. Horizon’s combined numbers put it above Pokémon and that’s actually impressive for a PS game in Japan nowadays after so many weeks being dominated by Switch games.
On the other hand, the combined numbers for KoF XV are very low (11,476), less than what the first week of KoF XIV (20k) and Samurai Shodown '19 (40k) did, even SNK Heroines which was a less ambitious title performed a bit better. I know KoF isn’t as popular as other fighting games and SNK is probably counting on better sales in China, Korea and Latin America, but it’s still a big drop in sales. I'm not sure if a Switch version could have helped, but SNK could have taken advantage Terry's appearance in Smash Ultimate to promote it, not to mention that some SNK games are available on the Switch including the latest SamSho. I know people say Nintendo’s userbase don’t play other fighting games aside from Smash, but companies should foster an audience on the platform, and games like Street Fighter, Tekken, Dead or Alive, Guilty Gear and even KoF appeared on Nintendo handhelds before, and on the Switch games like ARMS, Ultra Street Fighter II, DB Fighterz and Mortal Kombat 11 performed well in terms of sales according to developers.
