Knew both series would get the axe.
Wonder which SJ series is getting axed next. Don't think Witch Watch is at risk as the volume sales are pretty good. Maybe that music one?

I haven't read PPPPPP yet, but I hope it's not Blue Box. I'm really enjoying it. It's frequently getting color pages so I hope it's doing well.

I cannot believe they cancelled times great series. Why is it rubbish like DB Super, Boruto and a stupid Generic Harem like We never learn get to continue but a promising datk fantasy like Hunters guild is cancelled after a few chapters?

Because it is not about originality. A product lives on sales. If the readers do not like huters guild, then it is useless. Jump uses weekly polls that rate each series. If it goes below, it ends up on the chopping block. Boruto, Super, and we never learn may be generic to you, but it sells way better and got an anime. Trust me, I have the same frustration with some things, but Jump loses money and space when an unpopular series runs and few people enjoy it.
Off topic, but I personally was uninpressed by hunter's guild. It felt very generic other than the fairy theme. Black clover, as much as some can give it, is way better deserving than hunter's guild. It's not like Jump only picks that stuff. Chainsaw man did great, and it is incredibly daring. Sorry, but that is how the cookie crumbles.

Dragon Ball Super & Boruto both are sequel of Popular & Established Manga which are published Monthly under Shueisha "V Jump" and selling well while We Never Learn (I agree it is shitty) had been finished in 2020 with overall circulation of 4.5 Million.
In terms of Sales& Rankings, both Red Hood & Neru doing poorly despite quality content. Shonen Jump decided to axe both series.

DBS has such an overwhelming legacy behind it, to the point that it could have a whole volume of the characters insulting the reader and it still wouldn't be axed. Same with Boruto. Also you might not like We Never Learn but it gave what it promised, an entertaining, if a little bland romantic comedy.
The issue with axed manga in the "U19 club" is that, potential aside, they don't capitalize on it. New IPs need to do their damn best to gain a following. Red Hood had a good idea, if a little unoriginal, and the introductory chapters were well executed, but the followup was incredibly clumsy and tone deaf. It was prepping us for a dark story reminiscent of Claymore, and instead it tries to sell us another special people academy with a long and boring test arc. Unless you do it extremely well or happen to be lucky enough to catch SJ desperate enough to support you despite the initial fumble, that's something you do when you've already earned a fanbase. And Neru went all in on the same stupid mistake. The main character was bland as hell, and sure the author has guts if he thought we'd stay for a generic "self improvement" plot without anything to push them forward.
Early manga are carried by both the protagonists and the worldbuilding. Both had neither. What could have been has no weight if it never comes to materialize. I have my disagreements with many of SJ's previous axes, Mx0, Magico or Double Arts, which I can and will blame Japanese fans for, and grievances with many of the current serialized manga or manga which had SJ protect for way far too long until they picked up the pace or it was to obvious they were flops. But those two are neither.

Neru was cool, and I'm sad to see it go.

It's easy to know which series are in chopping block in Jump, they are always the 5 last to be placed in the publication:
Mashle
Witch Watch
Black Clover
Neru: Bugei Dougyou
Ayakashi Triangle
Disclaimer 1: Not sure about Ayakashi Triangle though, jump tents to place comedy manga at the end to "Finish with a smile".
Disclaimer 2: Black Clover has an Anime and that gives it "Resistance" to getting the axe.
Disclaimer 3: This rule only applies to series with more than 8 weeks of publication (discovered thru "test and error"! from Jump fans).
Disclaimer 4: If a series sells enough volumes it wont get axed.

Because the writing is bad? Red Hood has a perfect premise but squander that with so many missteps that make you wonder if the author even think of how the story will go on after the first chapters. The next four chapters literally repeat the same message as the 1st chapter while the exam arc is just uninterested and unnecessary this early on.

For the record, none of those series besides NERU are in any risk of cancellation. Black Clover has been established for years and has a movie coming in the next year or so. MASHLE is easily the most successful new series in Jump at the moment, with the latest volume selling over 100,000 copies in its first month of release. Witch Watch is also doing very well, with the current oricon rankings for its latest volume looking very promising. Ayakashi Triangle is selling just fine too, especially since it's an ecchi series.
People tend to put way too much importance on Jump's weekly table of contents order. The only significant sign is if a series is consistently at the back of the magazine, for weeks or months on end. That's what we saw with NERU and Red Hood, and why anyone playing attention expected both to end pretty soon.

@RockySplash. First do not talk to me in that condescending tone. Second who the fudge cares about another shitty harem? We all could have lived without We never learn! Hunters guild could have gotten better if given the chance. MHA was "generic" at first but it improved greatly later on.
.SJ issue is that they ignore the positive reviews and only focus on sales. Yes sales are important but reading fan reviews are just as important. Sorry but I could care less about Black Clover and Bloody Boruto. One is average and the other should not exist.
I liked Hunters Guild and I hate seeing potential wasted.

This got axed before volume 1 release so they didn't look at sale, they look at readers survey of their own magazine. Have you see RH ranking since the start, it stay at the bottom after chapter 1. Also by your logic, movies, games or books should only be judge by their fan review and any negative opinion should be discarded?

All I will say, is that you should do some research to how Jump picks manga. I reccomend watching or reading Bakuman, as it goes really into detail about why the polls and reviews affect things. I am sorry if that sounded condescending, but you made it sound like those series were bad purely because you do not care for them. Last, yes. I know companies like Jump and the like talk about creativity(which is why they give 8 weeks for a story to "flourish"), but as someone getting a degree and career in marketing, sales are absolutely the most important thing to every business. That's why they get stuff like One Piece, Chainsaw man, Jujutsu etc. That are both creative and lucrative.

Boruto and Dragon Ball Super are in another magazine which is V Jump actually which isn't shonen jump itself
