2023??? Luckily I’m fluent and get to play the Japanese versions, but for the rest of the fans, having to wait 2 more years for a game that is already 10yrs old is… how to put it nicely… another good reason to set sail?

I'm just glad to be getting these games to be honest with you. The one decision I made that worked out for me is I decided to stick with the PC releases of Cold Steel III and IV, so it only feels like a 2 year wait for me. Having played through the whole series from Trails 1in 2017 through Cold Steel IV now; I can actually use a bit of a break LOL.

Yeah, I totally get that.
I also had to take a break between ToCS 2 and 3, then was forced to another one after 4 waiting for Hajimari’s release. By the time I started playing Trails, the Sky, Azure arcs and the first half of CS all had their Japanese PS3/4 remakes or first digital versions available on PSN, so I pretty much only have played the series while binging it.
Funny thing, I first learned of ToCS because I played Tokyo Xanadu - I just figured that a game with such a cool opening had to be good. I heard that the graphics engine was based on CS so I checked that out. Played 1 and 2, then waited patiently for 3 and 4. After that I went back to Skies and Azure, then on to Hajimari and now Kuro. I think it took me about 3yrs to go over the 10 games, including some breaks in b/w and accounting for release dates of ToCS3/4 and Hajimari. Now that I’m done with Tales of Arise I’m ready to start Kuro. I really hope no one spoils you the stories for upcoming games because “but they’re old games, bruh”.

So that's very much a real concern for me. Using Cold Steel IV for example
The opening splash for the official steam website showed Estelle and Joshua with a statement essentially saying "Look, all your old friends are returning!!!!! I had to do one of these -_- Those two are my two favorites and it would have been a GREAT surprise to see them pop up, but nope. Got spoiled when I was trying to click the "buy" button
Also doesn't help that every English speaking trails fan is like you and can also speak Japanese lol, so even though I'm caught up with all English releases (including Zero and Ao), simply googling anything trails related is like stepping into a minefield

I know they can't simply use the fan translation of the PSP version, but 2 years are still way to long to translate one game that doesn't even have that much text.
Anyway I highly recommend buying the game when it finally gets released in the west, depending on the price of course, it is a 10 year old PSP game after all.
