I don't think Netflix is gonna dump 30+ episodes in one day; most likely the releases will be weekly, but I'm genuinely susprised by this being a Netflix-first release. Not that I'm complaining

If it's another 39 episode season like the last two were, I imagine Stone Ocean will be only half finished production-wise by the time December rolls around at best. And that is the only thing that puts a dump on the hype for me. I rather it be released weekly like all the previous series than kept locked up in Netflix Jail, to be dumped out in chucks over months. Oh wow I'm surprised Netflix got the license over Viz Media following the release of Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan OVA earlier this year.

The event mentioned we're getting a "season" in December. I guess we'll get 13 or so episodes at a time?
In any case, it looks and sounds great!

Netflix always release weekly alongside tv release in Japan, I imagine it will be the same here but with an advanced episode 1 screening. For US/UK/other Netflix however it could be cour batch releases or half and half, depending on the dubbing I guess. I do wonder if CR are going to get it now though, since part 5 was also a Netflix thing but not advertised as such like part 6 has been |

That's... interesting. A bummer for Viz and physical collectors for sure, always a little frustrating when a different company snatches up part of a franchise like this). Hopefully Viz will be able to get the physical rights somewhere down the line.

How is this being locked up in Netflix Jail if it's gonna be released internationally a month before its TV broadcast??? Generally being in Netflix jail means that we're getting a season of anime up to 6 months after its TV broadcast (a la Beastars or the 2021 Shaman King show). Weekly or by batches, I would mind it either way. |

Daisuke Namikawa going from being game Giorno to playing somebody that looks like Diavolo is kind of funny.
I had a feeling Netflix might get it considering they got exclusivity on the Rohan anime and keep stocking up on Shonen anime. I guess it sucks for those who prefer (legally) watching JoJo weekly instead of waiting for it to get released from Netflix jail. Dub-wise the Rohan anime was up to par so I don't think that will be effected too much beyond the question mark of whether Kira Buckland will get to play Jolyne. I'm sure Matthew Mercer will come back for Jotaro. |
