Yo I have to say something about this movie now then later when variables and other nonsense talk come into play later in "real life/online/etc".
I been waiting for this movie for "YEARS" now. I am NOT going to wait forever. This is not Yu Yu Hakusho or Togashi from Hunter x Hunter here.
I am not been offensive or demeaning when I say this or being loud. I am tired of waiting. Tired of checking every morning at ridiculous hours for updates for this thing. Tired of "condition/self imposed/make believe in my head/treating this like some sort of videogame unlocking if I refresh the browser enough times to unlock something new; but it not/I get the meme "I expect failure when I am disappointed dead meme from Everybody hates chris".
Look, to be clear all I am saying, when this pandemic is over, please do NOT waste my timepersonal/subjectively/objective with something that is or is not coming out by individuals being "cute" about it.
Rant over.

LMAO @ 3 years being a long time to wait. It's been 8 years since the previous Madoka movie and the new one was only just announced. 9 years passed between Rebuild 3.0 and 3+1. The Big O season 2 was in 2003 and season 3 is nowhere in sight. Twin Peaks was on pause for 25 years.
Once I understood all those waits, 3 years feels like the blink of an eye.

I guess now that Eva 3.0+1.0 has come out, this has to be the new reboot movie series that'll never finish

Was a Big O season 3 ever announced? I thought the ending was pretty conclusive, if very strange.

Don't forget about how it's been nearly 31 years since the Zeus arc of Saint Seiya was originally announced, and that has yet to happen.

I think the ending definitely works, but the writer did have plans for a season 3 in mind. It's never been announced or anything, I just know he wants to continue it, even to this day.

It never did well in the US (its main market) and the writer hasn't been in the anime industry for a decade so it likely isn't going to happen for those reasons.

He hasn't been in the industry for a decade because nobody will agree to publish the kind of stuff he wants to make anymore. He's been saying "this is the year i hope to return to anime" for several years now, and it never pans out. But that's just more waiting, and my point is that all of these stories can continue given enough time.
