Glad to see more stuff like this on ANN. The Cartoon Cipher folks are some cool peeps and they do a lot of good analysis about anime dubs. Most of the picks here were pretty good though I'm not 100% sold on the Spider dub yet personally. Also kinda wish they'd maybe gotten to talk about some recently streamed dubs from slightly outside the seasonal anime sphere because Akudama Drive and Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle are both extremely good so far, and are definently worth checking out.

Happy to see some dub content on ANN that isn't just a cast announcement or a couple throwaway lines in a blu-ray release review.
If we're only counting current Winter shows - Horimiya is definitely one of the ones to watch in my opinion. Caitlin Glass as an ADR director has a really consistent track record of bringing out strong performances with often unexpected casting, especially when the material overall is a bit more grounded like in Horimiya's case. Alejandro Saab in particular is pretty much perfect casting, while also not being the first person I would have envisioned when asked to think of someone off the top of my head.
As far as other Winter dubs that look promising - SK8: The Infinity seems like a show that could be really fun in English (Chris Guerrero especially seems to be having way too much fun as Shadow), and I could see them having a bit more leeway with fun adaptive scripts. Haven't started Dr. Stone S2 yet, but I definitely prefer the dub for that show so that's the version I'll be watching. Also, fingers crossed for Wonder Egg Priority if/when that happens. Easily one of the standout shows of the season, so I only hope the dub lives up to that potential.
While I still primarily watch the sub week to week for Attack on Titan, I truly believe the dub has only gotten better and better in almost all aspects (performance, script, casting, etc...). Robert McCollum as Reiner has continuously impressed me since S2, but no more than this season where I think he does some of his best work. I also agree that Kellen Goff was one of my favorites in the "new additions" list. He brings a lot to his roles, and its nice to see him play someone a bit more nuanced than the Big Bad-types he's more known for in anime. Lastly, props to Jonah Scott as Willy Tybur, another character who's brand new to S4 and has to essentially carry an entire episode with a speech by his second or third appearance.

Mushoku Tensei actually has a remarkably good English dub, and I was disappointed to see it not mentioned when Spider (which I consider decidedly the lesser of the two on dubbing so far) was.
Can't speak to the quality of the others

well, mushoten cheated because they got the actual real life rudy to voice rudy (just kidding, tho I think the mugshot was done on purpose and the voice actor has a fine sense of humour).

I heard good things about that dub as well, even though the show itself isn't really on my radar (only saw a clip on youtube, and thought both Madeline Morris and Ben Phillips sounded pretty fitting). I'm curious if dual-actors playing a single leading role take anything extra into account (like with this series or Erased from a few years ago)? I know for Fruits Basket, Caitlin Glass sometimes would try to have actors record lines for the actresses playing their younger counterparts if there was time for it, but obviously those were much smaller moments here and there compared to sharing a lead role.
Glad for the fans though if its a good dub!

He sounded a little dry to me compared to Sugita's Rudy, but I probably need to hear more from him.

Kellen Goff is quite talented probably more so then a vast majority of recent actors that have entered the dubbing medium in the last decade. Kellen has managed to actually stand out in a manner that very few actors do now days in this medium with his solid vocal range and unique voice. I've always liked the Dr. Stone dub its not breaking any new ground in the casting or voice direction departments but its a fun watch at times. The final season of Attack on Titan's dub has been average fare thus far that could very well change tho by the end of the dub's run. I have immense faith in Mike Mcfarland's ability as a voice director so we'll see if he can strike a stand out balance with the rest of the dub's run time will certainly tell.

Yeah, I also just stumbled on Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation. What a good dub! It's like having the narrator from "A Christmas Story" but he's also a pervert.
I was actually surprised about controversy around the show, maybe because the dub mutes the edges off of his worst monologuing, or I've just become desensitized over the years? Or maybe it's in part a show for much older anime fans: those who are not jarred by crassness or sexuality? I haven't fully gestated why this series doesn't bother me, where Rising of the Shield Hero did.
Attack on Titan has had some fan-frickin'-tastic monologues - especially in season 3 and beyond. They've done an exceptional job finding actors who can perform impactfully roles that are tiers away from the main characters - yet no less important to the story. Hunter X Hunter had this problem a lot in its dub by contrast.
I'm a dub guy, I'll almost always watch 'em that way (Especially the first time). Sometimes they're better - sometimes not.
