Cool. As noted by NJ_ in the thread about CR adding the first season, Discotek's physical releases aren't allowed to come out until one year after the BDs come out in Japan, as a measure to protect the Japanese distributors against reverse importation. Apparently that doesn't apply to "region-locked" streaming.

Cries in Denmark. Hopefully we get it at some point! There's a lot on the American Crunchyroll I really want here that we just don't have access to at all (Lupin, Conan, Slam Dunk among others)

The first season was good, but I hated how the whole "mokkori" or whatever was overused to death like almost every episode it got old and boring.
Hope they add the other two seasons too for streaming! |

This is much sooner then expected! Great!
Crunchyroll now has City Hunter, Kimagure Orange Road, Detective Conan... im so happy. If you'd told me 8 years ago that this would be possible I wouldn't have believed it. |

City Hunter and Kimagure Orange Road are both on CR thanks to Discotek, AKA "the real MVP," as someone called them in the Old School Anime Club on MyAnimeList. They're the ones negotiating with the Japanese companies for new deals on old shows. Crunchyroll themselves stick to licensing new shows as they come out.
Some other recent "license rescues" have been done by Maiden Japan, and those have been going to HiDive for streaming. company#8774 |
