It is ironically amusing how these girls wear appropriate skirts and have no panty shots in this part of the Strike Witches universe.

They don't use Striker Units so they are fine wearing something.
Also, seems like they returned familiars that were only present in the first promo OVA.

With Shaft working on Assault Lily and this, I wonder how far away season 2 of Magia Record is (it might even be 2022)

This really does not feel like SHAFT show. It is nice to see SHAFT doing something outside of usual work from time to time, but surprised of all studios that get to do this series, went to SHAFT. Again SW has been done by many studios, David Studio, AIC, and Gonzo off top of head. Maybe Silver Link, so I see J.C. Staff dong it but not SHAFT.

I don't mind a zany idol anime like this, although it doesn't feel like Strike Witches at all.

a lolicon production in 2020 would raise a lot of red flags

You posted multiple comments on an article for a new Strike Witches TV series coming in October.

Things are not really that different from when the first Strike Witches came out, and the subsequent sequels over the years.

lol! Are you flipping serious, that premise is amazing! Animated by SHAFT, too! I'm curious. News has really had me down on society in past few weeks especially. Maybe, just maybe, this will be a bright spot next year.
