I guess when originals are concerned, Crunchyroll’s going to basically do what Netflix does for the shows it licenses (start releasing episodes after the show has ended).

A most welcome dub. I hope this means a BD release form Viz.

They perhaps think it is not worth it. Yuasa is a great artist, but his anime is mostly niche.

No. Crunchyroll simulcasts subbed episodes and releases dubbed episodes in a weekly basis. CR knows what the f.uck they are doing with anime; Netflix does not.

Wow, Lizzie Freeman's been nabbing a lot of main roles lately! That's great, because she really is talented and deserves to be more well known than she is now.

Oh so now they’re telling us who’s in the dub, when they’ve literally bankrolled the show

Eizouken has been one of the most talked about shows this season, how is it niche?

I thought it was pretty likely to be dubbed, but nice to get confirmation.
I was curious who Kotoko and Kuro would end up being, but casting two of the biggest rising stars in LA dubs makes sense. Lizzie Freeman as Kotoko is making me think of her as sassy Cardinal.
Kayli Mills as an idol character is fitting, but she'll only get, like, two lines. Will they dub Nanase's song?
But yeah, it's kind of weird they'd officially announce the cast for this but not for any of the other two shows they've released dubs for this season. Perks of being a "Crunchyroll Original" I guess?

Considering they are announcing this after already releasing two dubs, I think it's safe to say Crunchyroll will dub shows at their own pace rather then release them all at once. I'm still expecting a Seton Academy dub.

I am sure it is a hit among seasoned anime fans. But I will be surprised if the more casual fans will appreciate it as much.

Maybe because Crunchyroll co-produced In/Spectre, so they have more of an interest in it turning a profit than they do a licensed show like Eizouken!.

Even with that science romcom anime that streams on Fri. on CR, CR didn't announce more of the cast for the Eng. dub.

They better dub it down the line, I enjoy the sub but it sometimes moves at a mile a minute and the fact that no other Yuasa TV series have a dub aside from Ping Pong is frustrating. It feels like Science Saru just hates dubs.

That’s actually the 1 benefit of being a Netflix Original. They always provide a Dub with the Sub. If Devilman Crybaby was like say Crunchyroll, it may not have a Dub or we would have to wait awhile for the Dub.

Unless you're Saiki K Seasons 2 and 3.....
But you are right about that being the main benefit of Netflix licenses. That said, it's also the reason why Netflix anime that aren't actually Netflix Originals (basically something like The Seven Deadly Sins and not Devilman Crybaby) are released weeks or even months after the initial Japanese airing.
What seems to separate Crunchyroll and Netflix in this regard is that Netflix dubs all of the shows it licenses as an exclusive AND distributes as an original. Crunchyroll, atm, seems to be dubbing the latter and only occasionally the former, which may exclude Eizoukan unfortunately. I think it'll depend on overall popularity and whether or not Crunchyroll holds the exclusive rights.
