Does he have ADD? Half jokeing, half serious there, it's about half taking and half action so there's a lot of slow spots. On the other hand kids were going absolutly crazy over it when it first came out over here and still are so go ahead and give it a shot.

I think Gundam wing would be a great Anime to watch. (I've see the whole series because my best friend has the DVD box set) and I've seen the movie. It is very good! (But beware of Gundam Blue Seed that is currently aring in Japan because it sucks! Also beware of SD Gundam on Cartoon Network. All the others are fine.

You mean Gundam SEED. Blue Seed is a whole other anime. Wink
I haven't seen Seed yet but from what I heard it's very good. I believe it's something of a remake of the original, am I correct?
Anyway, I personally love Gundam Wing, so of course I'll recommend it.

It's a remake for the first several episodes, then branches off on its own thing. Personally, I've found it to be better than Wing from what I've seen.

Speaking of Wing, it's good, but if you ask me, it's one of the weaker Gundam incarnations out there. It's worth checking out, but I'd also like to recommend that you look into the other Gundam stuff available right now, as well (including SEED & Zeta when they come out).

And yeah...Blue Seed's something else entirely (check it out, too, it's pretty good...it's not mech, though, and pretty heavy into Japanese mythology).

It could certainly be worse. You'll be sure to hear about some fans complaining that its all of UC compressed, but still enjoyable. Your brother's age will depend on whether he likes it or not. The younger he is the more likely he is too like it. If he's older I'd just recommend watching First Gundam, and working his way through UC.

Wing is okay but I reccomend the UC Gundam or G Gundam over it.

I really dislike mecha animes, so this didn't interest me at all.

Many of my friends love it, but I'm not one to watch it only for the pretty boys. It was really boring to me.

Something just occurred to me...

I'm guessing you haven't seen Gundam SEED at all...otherwise you wouldn't be confusing it so readily with Blue Seed. So how can you say it sucks if you haven't even seen it?

By the way, it stopped airing in Japan months ago. Laughing

Ok I will admit that gundam seed is a good change for the series, but it has to many repead themes from previous gundams to awards it approval. First of all you find out that one of the characters' parents aren't thier biological parents. HELLO that is a total ripoff of WING. (If you don't know, one of the characters there also had that same problem.) Why would you want to repeat that same theme? Also The characrter design is really bad. The characters faces look deformed, and some what obsucured. I can't even stand to look at the pictures to the opening. (The is good, I will admit) Also, the Gundam seires has always been revovled around war! They need to have a change in plot. Make up something more original. I love Gundam to death, but they love to repeat alot of things already asablished in previous series. I need to go because I'm writting this at school More later (btw I have read a summery of every episode 1-40 so I know what I'm talking about

And Nagisa; I know the difference between Gundam and blue Seed. I didn't mean to but blue infront of seed. And I know that Seed stopped airing in Japan in Novemeber. (want to read more about 3rd season to see if it will change my mind about the series, but doubt it.)

I thought it was pretty good from what I've seen, your bro may like it too. If he like all the bishojo and bishonen running around and stuff, it's a good series. But, it's got fighting, some other stuff, don't think it has romance, but, it's all good.

That doesn't exactly instill confidence about you opinion. Reading summaries of a TV series might give you an indication whether or not you might enjoy a show, but it by no means makes you an expert on the subject.

Gundam is about war. It has been since day one and will always be about war. If you want to watch Mecha battles without all the political intrigue, watch Dai-Guard or Mazinkaiser.

One more thing: you can edit your second post to delete all the repeat text.

I'll go one step further on this and say that just reading summaries of a show doesn't mean jack, period. I've read summaries of shows that left a really bad taste in my mouth (figuratively speaking), but when I actually saw the series in question, I enjoyed them quite a bit.

Summaries are often far too vague, or slanted in opinion, or they exaggerate certain points, or they just plain get things wrong. They're good for use as liner notes if you've already seen a show, but they are no substitution whatsoever for actually seeing the show at all.

And as far as SEED ripping off other Gundam series, I suppose you haven't noticed that almost every Gundam series rips off its predecessors to some degree. Look at Wing. I suppose Zechs is nothing like Char at all, right? And Amuro's Newtype abilities & Heero's use of the Zero System are totally unrelated? Yes, SEED is a little more liberal in its borrowing from other Gundam series for the first several episodes, but that was because it was, if I recall correctly, planned to be the "next-generation UC." Of course, now that's up in the air...
