Movie is being generous. They put that thing on a random Labor Day. At least Teen Titans’ movie was an actual movie, in theatres.

That's pretty standard for kids channels isn't it? Do an hour-long special and just call it a movie? Unless you're Spongebob or Teen Titans Go levels of popularity, you're not getting into theaters |

It’s semantics, I know, but I don’t like when anime does it and I don’t like it here either.

This actually really was an hour-and-a-half long. It ran with zero commercial interruption. |

A few things in the article were butchered. The name is Takafumi Hori, not Takafune. And he's an ex Studio Trigger animator, he left the studio quite some time ago.

Well, regardless of whether we want to call it a "movie" or not, I thought the fight scene choreography was leaps and bounds above what I've come to expect from this franchise. In general, I thought the film itself was fantastic (and it made me cry for a good half hour, although I've found that as I've gotten older I've become more and more susceptible to sad stuff in kids' media).

So a Made-For-Tv Movie then. Still a movie, it’s just made for premiering on TV not the cinema. Plus it’s actually titled & advertised as a Goddamn movie with a 90-minute run time. |

Yeah, I mean, how does the news crew for an encyclopedia site screw up that badly? |

The only time you'll find good animated in Steven Universe. Is this the guy who did that gif of My Life As a Teenage Robot? |

Eh SU already had good animated sequences before. |

Although the fight scenes are generally pretty forgettable, I'd argue that the show would be much more well-regarded by the anime sakuga community if the character designs were closer to a Flip Flappers, PreCure, or Symphogear mahou shoujo aesthetic: animenewsnetwork.com/feature/2015-07-31/why-are-anime-fans-obsessed-with-steven-universe/.91130 The henshin sequences have been particularly well-executed. |

The "Other Friends" sequence was fantastic.
Poor Spinel. Pink Diamond did her wrong. |
