Just wanted to let people know that Cowboy Bebop: The Movie will be premiering on Starz Jan. 15 at 11pm (ET). I saw a commercial about it last night. Yay!

Hmm... I caught it the other night on The Movie Network in (Eastern) Canada. I sorta assumed if it was playing on a premium movie channel in Canada, it would have played already on premium American channels.
I guess we got lucky this time, though keep in mind that not a single episode of the Cowboy Bebop TV series has ever played on any channel legally accessible to Canadians, so Americans can't complain too much that Canadians got the movie half-a-month early. |

Oh yes, by the way, for Canadians here whom missed it the first time, the Cowboy Bebop film will be shown again on the Movie Network on January 4th, 8th, 12th, and 17th (each day which they're showing it, it's being shown 2 or 3 times on those days, though spread over several of the 5 TMN channels). Thanks for the times and channel! Out of curiosity, is Cartoon Network available in Canada on satilite? I have cable, so I don't get it. |

Nope... the CRTC doesn't permit "carriage" of CN in Canada at all, and you're not allowed to subscribe to an American satellite TV provider to watch it, since CN is "competition" for YTV and Teletoon. Personally, I think the CRTC should just "piss off, ya dotty wee skidmark" (the CRTC, I mean, not you, that's just the quote I use), to quote Magnus Buchan, but, barring that, they should permit Canadians to subscribe to American satellite TV services, perhaps with a 10% surcharge above the sales taxes to go into funding Canadian television and film production.
