For songs by decade, I've gotta go with Cruel Angel's Thesis (90's "mature" anime), Hare Hare Yukai (00's moe boom), and Crossing Field (10's isekai trend.)

Agree, but if they have to choose one, they should choose Cruel Angel's Thesis!

89-99 is the hardest for me. I ultimately went with "Tank!" but "Cha-La-Head-Cha-La," "Hohoemi no Bakudan," "Moonlight Desetsu" and "A Cruel Angel's Thesis" all popped into my head as well.

I went with "Ride on Shooting Star" and "JoJo (Sono Chi no Sadame)" for the other years.

I went with Butter-fly for 90's (this was a VERY tough decision), Inner Universe for 2000's, and Sugar Song to Bitter Step for 2010's.

"Cruel Angel's Thesis" and "Moonlight Densetsu" immediately came to mind for me as top contenders, too. I'd also put "Mezase Pokémon Master" up there.

"Colors" from Code Geass, "My Soul, Your Beats!" from Angel Beats, and "Ready Steady Go" from FMA seem possible. Probably something from Naruto... maybe "Closer" or one from the first series. I'll root for either GitS:SAC opening or Paranoia Agent, but doubtful they'll rank. Aaaaand something from Detective Conan has to rank for sure.

I saw the title and went looking for the name of the current era, because I knew that it began in 89 so I assumed this must be for this era so far, and the article points that out Sad

is this just for openings, or are insert songs and endings okay?? to me, the most representative anime song of 2010-2019 would be "snow halation" from love live, but i don't know if it's eligible.

the other songs i chose are "cruel angel's thesis" and "ready steady go", i hope they win!!

In terms of technology, I choose this theme. Quite literal but for the turn of the millenium and the rise of the internet, this song I choose to be grateful for the tech to help us know and share our interest in anime.

'90: Moonlight Densetsu (Moon Lips)
'00: COLORS (FLOW) (not underrated)
'10: Sacred Force -Extended Mix- (Mizuki Nana)
