Most government sponsored political promotion works are junk, and I think this will be no different.

Expounding a version of Marxism that accords with the current state of China's wealth distribution will be something of a tall order, methinks...

This looks really cool. I’m definitely going to check it out to see how they cover Marxist philosophy.

Why?
China runs under Maoism wich it's nothing but a bastardization of Leninism which it's a bastardization of Marxism, this is like the European Union trying to make an anime about Bawerk when they are a bunch of Keynesians.
Also, what are they gonna do with Engels?
He was the perfect definition of a bourgeois and he is crucial to Marx's ideas spreading.

An anime about the father of Communism being made and sponsored by a mostly-Communist government....
I'm sure this won't be propaganda of some kind

Pardon me while I throw up.
I will boycott any streaming service that picks this up. Even if its Crunchyroll.

Since communism stresses everyone owning property and the lack of private property, I wonder if Bilibili plans on sharing this with as many foreign countries via simulcasting.

Karl Marx made an ideology that caused the deaths of more than 70 million people and yet I can already predict that some people will promote this show. That a communist government would create communist propaganda is not surprising though I do find it odd that despite making dozens of shows about Chairman Mao that the first communist anime that the Chinese government makes will be about Karl Marx.

Agreed, and if a video streaming service wants to promote communist propaganda they can do so but they will be doing it with less subscribers.

I dunno, I'm seeing it and I'm not mad. Hell, I'm so detached from caring about communism in general that this news doesn't disgust me in the slightest.

Works about difficult people can still be interesting even if you don't agree, not to say that this looks like it will dwarf Downfall or Motorcycle Diaries.
