Nice to get such an early guest announcement (other than the usuals among US creatives who are always there). Also, the room blocks opened today for the Hyatt Regency (main events hotel) and some of the core cluster hotels. Panel and cosplay gathering submissions open tomorrow (Sept 1).

So this is just a one-shot, right? In essence it’s a pilot that got made thanks to Kickstarter.

Gee, I wonder if any companies are looking to make original content and could bring this pilot to series. Gee...

This is what I was thinking when I put in my pledge. Not sure if the Blu-ray discs will ship before or after this screening.

There’s nothing wrong with that, I mean that’s how Little Witch Academia got funded, first with the money from the Young Animator Training Project, then with Kickstarter for the second short, before they got that Netflix money to make a full series.

And hey, not only is Netflix still pouring tons of money into original content in an attempt to prepare for the Disneyocalypse (where they will lose all their programming owned by Disney to an original service they’re creating) but there’s another company who just announced original animation but their first production became an immediate debacle.

There’s options is what I’m saying to bring this to a full series if reception is positive.
