It's such a terrible, heart-breaking tragedy. I still can't believe it's real. I loved watching him skate, his performances were always so passionate, and he fought so hard to keep going in spite of his multiple injuries. He had so much ahead of him.
Denis also cheered for Otabek when YOI was airing. If I remember correctly, Janny Medvedeva told him about the series, since Otabek is such a clear reference to him -Otabek has the same Ted stuffed bear which Denis was often seen with. What Denis did for figure skating and for his country will never be forgotten. I'm sure he has inspired a lot of Kazakh youth to follow their dreams. Hopefully, in the coming years we'll see young Kazakh skaters following in his footsteps. Rest in Peace. |

Oh man why. You, alone, dont just approach 2 individuals. No matter where you are. Get help. If they approach you, run for life.
Gosh this is awful, im outraged. Because of some shitty mirrors. What the hell do you want with car mirrors?!?! |

You have no idea what criminals steal nowadays. They steal anything that has perceived value. Assuming that medalist was driving a very nice car for being a national hero, auto parts of his car could get decent money from black market. It's shame that emergency medical service was too late save him from blood loss. I hope that justice in Kazakhstan is swift enough to punish those two perpetrators. |

This is truly awful. Someone with so much talent as Denis Ten getting killed over car mirror theft... I just don't get it. Is car mirror that valuable that it's worth killing people for? Criminals are just hungry for anything.
RIP Denis Ten. |

Reading all the heartfelt tributes by his fellow skaters also brought me close to tears, he seems to have been truly beloved within the skating community. R.I.P. Denis. It always was a pleasure to watch him skate, he will be remembered! |

Ye, I agree with you and feel the same. Thugs like this usually are after something else to begin with. They take pride in the harassing more than anything, where money sometimes isn't even a secondary objective, as if your local bullies grew up and never adapted to society. Maybe Denis Ten was a known figure to them and they attacked out of jealousy and resentment, or maybe his car was too nice so they had to ruin it. I hope his family manage to get by and is taken care of in the after match of this, especially if he's leaving behind any children. |

I read about this at work back on Thursday; the whole thing is quite horrifying. Why has our world come to this? Why do wonderfully gifted and talented people who inspire others end up dying while the useless ratbags get to keep breathing?
