I really don't know where to direct this to, I want to start getting light novels but I don't know of any good series. What ones would you recommend? I'm into Clannad, Angel beats, ghost in the shell, blue exorcist.

I thought that we had a recommendations thread here, but I do not see one.
I must be confusing this with some other forums.
@ Desertking22,
I cannot think of anything that is really similar to what you mentioned, so I will give you my standard suggestions:
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
Full Metal Panic
They are both science fiction, though it is not obvious with Haruhi at first.
The Full Metal Panic novels that Tokyopop translated were covered in the first and third TV series. The first series added some stories, but other than that they are very similar to the novels.
The Haruhi anime was reasonably faithful. but it covered only the first few novels. After that the science fiction aspect gets more prominent.

If you loved the Haruhi anime I am almost certain that you will like the novels.

Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei. The story is ok, but the world building is great.

Few good novels would be Sakurasou no pet na kanojo (slice of life and romance) the anime is also a masterpiece in my view. Spice and wolf (fantasy romance and economics). Campione! (slice or life fantasy/mythology echi harem romance comedy).
This are a few nice ones give them a try

There were four Ghost in the Shell-related novels that got translated: three by Junichi Fujisaki, and one related to the second movie by Masaki Yamada.

First off, you probably should specify if you want novels in English or Japanese. Because not all are available in English yet.
I'd recommend Durarara!! or any novels by Ryougo Narita. The stories are great and it is supposed to be released in english this summer.
I've haven't read a lot of other light novels so I don't have many other suggestions.
There is a Kanon (also made by Key) light novel but I'm not sure if its available in english. I don't think it is.
The No Game no Life light novel is supposed to be released in english this month. That one might be up your alley.
