"they only look to anime as a form of escapism and don't care about it as a medium"
Yeah, it's almost like anime is an entertainment medium... HEY WAIT A MOMENT!
God, this guy's such a tool.

**Old Man Yells at Cloud**
Yamakan continues to prove why no one in the industry wants to work with him by attacking all sides in a situation that he then makes about himself being a victim. The show should have never been approved in the first place, & the person who needs to grow up the most is Yamakan.

Everyone outraged at New Life's cancellation should reconsider now. Do you really want to be on the side of Yamakan?

This is a victory for Yamakan, he has used this situation to claw up from oblivion. You can bet he will do it again next time there is some controversy. He might no longer do anime, but this is a form of entertainment also, pass me the popcorn.

He raises several important points but it's impossible to take them seriously since it's Yamakan.

Funny thing how most of supporters he got for his crowdfunding project was from China. Well, might as well be his last work overall.
I find it funny how otaku for him is "anyone I disagree with".

He does have a point about otaku ruining anime, considering that there are many generic harem media every year. However, this guy has his own issues so it is hard to take him seriously.

Anyway, Looks like Yamamoto is at it again, unfortunately.

Quote: | In the post he referred back to a previous blog entry from May 30, where he'd posted a reply he'd received that parodied Martin Niemöller's poem "First they came for..." about Germans not recognizing the Nazi's rise to power. The poem was rewritten to to begin with "First otaku attacked Yamakan..." |
A Japanese individual referencing something from Germany again, I see.

Let's see it from his perspective guys, They are just an anime studio trying to make a new anime. Reminder that they have worked on this MONTHS before announcement. Suddenly, It got cancelled!
Well shit, of course the people in the studio is going to be pissed. Months of work gone to drain, money lost from seiyuus and advertisement.
Him being salty is understandable, and the people in studio must have been told to calm down.

There's almost too much here to comment on, he just keeps shooting his foot constantly.
"I criticize both sides, the nationalists and the victims", comparing himself being made fun of online to being a holocaust victim, the fact that he's banned from China, "I'm the only rational one", "this one event has ruined anime forever"...
As others have pointed out, he's actually not wrong about the general state of the industry and the flaws of otaku culture, but he destroys any of his own chances at being taken seriously.
