I know this probably isn't on the stupid recomendations list but I'm feeling REALLY Christmas-y. I mean don't you just love it when the snow falls and the presents are under the tree, and your stuffing your face with all of that mouth watering delicious Christmas food.
And oh yeah, family too. lol Anything will do, movie, series, you name it. |

Eh, I doubt you'll find much other than a christmas episode here and there in anime. http://funimation.com/mysanta/ is the only thing I've seen around to be "christmas-y".

^ Yup. A lot of the Christmas themed anime I've seen are single episodes. The one feature film I remember taking place over Christmas was "Tokyo Godfathers". I've never revisited the movie enough to figure out if Kon was expounding Christmas themes or just using the holiday as a backdrop. I suppose it was a bit of both. Anyways, it's a nice movie. Not as intricate as "Millennium Actress" and very palatable for most audiences.

How about Tokyo Godfathers?
It's from Satoshi Kon (creator of Perfect Blue, Millenium Actress, Paprika). It's not the usual, sappy christmas story. It's quirky, funny and entertaining. The visuals are great too. EDIT: d.yaro posted first |

Love Hina Christmas special was christmasy I suppose, but it's more of a Japanese variation as you could imagine.

The Sailor Moon S movie took place at Christmas. Other than that...

Well, there were a few Gundam series that took place around the holidays. Gundam Wing's sequel movie Endless Waltz took place around Christmas, which apparently so did the ending battle sequence acording to that movie, it's just that people were so concentrated on this climactic world war to notice. Also, Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket I believe took place from Christmas to New Years, ushering in the change from UC 0079 to UC 0080. And closer to the end of Death Note, a lot of the events leading up to the end of the story had importance to the fact that it was the Christmas/New Years time period as well.
Other than that, can't really think of too many others. |

There was a Christmas episode of Vandred but I can't remember if it took place in the first season or second stage.

Ranma 1/2 has a christmas episode in the OAVs, which is really funny, and revisits a lot of characters featured in the TV series

I always like to watch Kanon during the Christmas Season (have marathoned it every year, started with 2002 and watched that every year until 2006 came out). It's not about Christmas and doesn't really have anything to do with Christmas, but the entire series takes place in the winter in the snow and it fits well with the Christmas season. Also, it's really heartwarming and that's a nice fit with Christmas also.
But onto series with actual allusions to Christmas or takes place during Christmas, Santa plays a kind of important role in Chocotto Sister by spoiler[giving the main character the little sister he always wanted], and at least a good half of the season takes place during the Holiday Season (never watched past that point, so I don't know about the rest). |

Episode 17 of Azumanga Daioh titled: "Christmas." I don't think Kurau: Phantom Memory's "Another Christmas" is what you're looking for. spoiler[A family getting shot-to-death doesn't exactly bring the warm-and-fuzzies]. |

First season, just finished watching it this week. Watching only one episode out of any anime just for the christmas episode seems weird but eh, you just can't find much else. |

I reccomend you the Love Hina christmas special. It's romantic and has good animation. It makes people feel warm in the heart with the last scene. The girls act more like themselves than usual in it.
