Save for the dub where Popuko is played by Justin Briner for some reason. |
Because in episode 1 part 2, Popuko's "female" voice was actually a dude doing a high pitch voice. Pipimi also had a different (but actually female) voice actor in episode 1.
Makes me interested if the dub will have different VAs every ep.

To give a more straightforward answer, in half of each episode, the characters are played by male voice actors and in the other half, they are played by female voice actors. |
Huh... Well okay, thanks.

Definitely going to check out Pop Team Epic's dub thanks to this guy. Haven't been disappointed with his ADR directing yet from what I've seen thus far.

I mean, there’s no reason to start name-calling. Everyone has different tastes, and what is perceived as “funny” varies between from person to person, especially when it comes to comedy anime.

I’m curious if they will use the voice recording Scenes in Pop Team Epic or replace them with the U.S. voice actors.

back when that episode came out I was talking about this with a friend too. I wonder if they're allowed to record their own version. I'm excited to see

Did they keep the French as it was? I don't see why they'd touch that segment, the Japanese didn't dub over it, so I don't know why the English would.
About the live VA stuff...doing Funimation's own version could be hilarious, but they don't typically record multiple actors at once, but if they were allowed to make their own segment, I'm sure they'd be willing to stage a similar event.

Have you not been watching the original Japanese version? The episodes are 20+ minutes long, but each half are the same, except with different voice actors.

Colleen's comments on twitter more or less confirm they will be changing VA.

The only other time I know of where a character's voice actor was changing so often (dub or sub), other than the various DBZ Eng. dubs, was Eucliwood in Is This a Zombie?. Often, there is a lot of controversy when a character changes voice actors (not counting playing younger or older versions). However, this and Eucliwood are intentionally done that way.

It may be a little late, but I'll put it here anyway. Jessica Cavanagh is the ADR scriptwriter and Matt Grounds is the ADR engineer.
