Unfortunate that this happened, but he was 89. The life expectancy of a male in Japan is 80. I hope his family and friends can get through this. Thank you for having an impact on many child/adulthoods.
RIP

He had a long and eventful career and that's an achievement in itself. Rest in peace, Tamio Ohki.

Perhaps the last VA born in the 1920's that was still active. RIP.

That's a nice way to put it in perspective.
Too many people get hung up with death and think people dying in their 80s is "too soon."
Death is sad for anybody -- heck, most of us had pets die! -- but some people just don't want to accept death happens for everybody...

I was never the biggest GITS fan, but Aramaki was one of my favorite old men characters in anime, and I'll miss Oki-san a lot. He also was Okina in the Rurouni Kenshin Shin Kyoto-hen, the Midland King in the original Berserk series and Dr. Shtalubaugh in El Hazard. RIP and thanks for all the memories.

Tamio Ohki must have experienced plenty of exciting moments throughout his long life. Nonetheless, his passing is a sad one. May Mr. Ohki-san rest in peace.

R.I.P. Professor X and Emperor Palpatine. You were gifted enough to not succumb to the Dark Side (in this case, "dark side" doesn't mean death but rather becoming evil).

Aramaki was one of my favorite GitS characters simply because of the voice. I'll miss hearing him in any future installations of this franchise.

According to the encyclopedia, he was only Aramaki in the original two movies. Osamu Saka did his voice for the Stand Alone Complex stuff, and Ikkyuu Juku did his voice for the Arise stuff.
