I bet it's all that episodic stuff the manga had in the final volumes, like Yusuke running a ramen stand.

I was considering buying Yu Yu Hakusho on BR but now it might be better to wait to see if a new BR release is released in the States with this on it.

FUNi's classic BD releases are still readily available (and for quite cheap) so I'm not sure why they would re-release it.

Because this will have new material and probably a better master.
It’s not like it will come out immediately anyways they would have to wait for it to be out for some time in Japan so there are not reverse imports.

Actually you can find some of that stuff already in the Eizou Hakusho extras, along with a lot of other random things. But there's some actual story stuff there too.
