I saw that and now it has me worried. the Ushio & Tora anime adaption had a greater than one ep to one volume ratio and had to cut out a crapton of content including a fairly important (at least in my opinion) arc from the manga.

Yes, I thought it was important too, and it had the proper introduction of some youkai.
If only it was just a first season of Hoshing Engi, but I doubt it.

Kagari kicking butt was pretty important too, IMO.
seriously, tho, IMO it'd be hard to do the story justice with less than 4 cours. I'm praying this is just a season one and they're not going to turn this into a speeding swiss cheese trainwreck.

I’m very surprised that it’s getting another animated series. It’s not like people were clamoring for this show in droves. The manga is a little older and I don’t know anyone who is a fan.

probably more 1.5 episodes = 1 Volume. It seems it will only cover the manga up until Bunchu's fall. Also, I think some characters will only have slight change and only appear in the second part (like To Sengyoku / Chan-Yu, whose role only becomes important during Cho Komei's arc)
