"These days", there's always been people doing horrible things, it's just that some of it currently is being dragged out of the shadows into the light. Weinstein seemed like a legit monster, but now we've got... a guy that gave hugs. Really? |

Didn't know we were grading on a scale. Besides he's the one who describes it as just "hugs". Obviously it was a little more than that. |

Exactly. This aint new, people are just paying a bit of attention as opposed to actively denying wrongdoing, playing it down, blaming the victim, or other lousy tactics. And in the case of the movie business, keeping ladies out of the boy's club of creative development, writing and directing, is part and parcel with harassment. Hopefully, all this coming out into the light leads to positive changes at movie studios (and other workplaces) that will support people's careers instead of turning them off industries. |

Did you read the actual articles? Where insiders explain how his conduct was so infamous women already knew they needed to keep their guard up around him to avoid getting randomly kissed or groped? That's still sexual harrassment, especially since he was taking advantage of his position of power to do whatever he pleased |

Well actually Hollywood has long had a history of a seedy place where people will do anything for power, fame and money. But so far that information on everything from sexually inappropriate misconduct to prostitution and child sex rings have largely been spoken off only in conspiracy circles. It's only making news now because it seems the dam has been cracked, and we should expect more and more to surface. Anyway, I recommend to everyone a lovely song by System of a Down called 'Lost in Hollywood' to get you through the times... |

What exactly was this "accusation" about? Did he just say the wrong thing to the wrong person? Possibly jokingly? Did he actually touch someone in a way that made them feel uncomfortable multiple times?

Considering how large the animation industry is here, I was wondering if any big names might come out after Chris Savino was fired. Lasseter is a big reason for my love of cartoons—Toy Story was the first movie I ever saw in theaters—so this definitely sucks. Still will be able to enjoy those movies, but I do hope that this does spur on some change in the work culture change at Pixar and elsewhere.
But who wants to read multiple articles about multiples accusations of an environment of groping, kissing, and sexual remarks when you can just check out the headline and post to downplay them instead? |

Yes we are grading on a scale for sure. If Weinstein is a 10/10 than this John Lasseter situation is like a 3//10. |
