Sorry Shitaya, but people who watched Zero first without playing the game already know all of that. RIP shock value.

Well, they don't know all of it, like that one development towards the end of which I am sure you are aware.

If you thought the movie wasn't playing near you this weekend, check again. They added some theaters this week, including one near me, I was happy to see.

I really liked Shitaya's voice when I first heard her as Sakura in the 2006 anime. It just sounded right. Looking forward to seeing her performance in this new trilogy.
On the other hand, I really appreciate how the director was simply aiming to create 'something good.'

I'm glad she acknowledges her Studio DEEN work, a lot of the fandom tends to hate that anime, excessively.

It's not just the fandom tbh. You'll find a distinct lack of any mentioning of Deen's Fate on everything related to ufotable or even TYPE Moon books these days.

Deen's Fate was more of a breakthrough project IMO, especially after the case of Shingetsutan Tsukihime. It was more of an experiment rather than anything else. One achievement I think the anime did was getting the voice cast for the entire characters right. They still use the same cast even more than a decade later.

Uhhm... it premiered at the Ace Hotel on November 3rd, 2 weeks before it hit theaters. I know because I was there. |

NOT EVERYONE! only those mind numbing type-moon elitists as well as hardcore ero visual novel fans are the ones that despises the deen versions
for one those that was introduced to the series via that version still liked it to this day. i mean, the franchise wouldn't even be on the map in western shores outside of those in the otaku community if it wasn't for the DEEN anime version since its an hentai VN.
the other is that it followed the fate route which is liked by some. especially if your a fan of saber and illya.
and the most important point is that its OP music score is one of the most iconic theme in the history of the entire anime industry. if anyone who ever watched that series would more or less agreed with me on THAT at least.

That's the thing, i'm not an elitist or whatever, i just like what i like. And yes, i was introduced to the series with Deen and while not as passionate about shitting on it, i'm not above to say that thing shouldn't exist.
Also, dafuq are you on about? Even if the Deen Anime didn't exist, i'm pretty sure Fate/Zero (yes, Zero is already a few years old by now) would have made sure of it.
Get off you high horse, yeah? Just because you feel the need to justify why you feel entitled to be considered a fan by the so called "elitists", so do they. At the end of the day, you're all fans. Whether you're a more ardent fan or not, it's up for debate.

Just got back from seeing this last night.. I expected some departures from the VN and there were, but overall it was a good experience and I am looking forward to the next Installment "Lost Butterfly".
I haven't played the Fate VN all the way through (all 3 routes) since sometime in 2004, but I did dig it back out and went through parts of Heaven's feel just to refresh my memory.
I think the series needed this.. With all this other Fate/Beating a dead horse stuff out now it's easy to get disenfranchised with Type-Moon. The Heavens feel movies so far feel like a step back in the right direction.
Now if only TM would finish the redo of Tsukihime.. all would be right with the world!

HIGHLY UNLIKELY!
that series is nowhere as popular or the money maker for type-moon as the fate franchise. if that was the case, it would have gotten a remake a long time ago. or at least melty blood would have been given a green light for adaptation.
