It was already bizarre to hear a yaoi was getting a dub, but Todd Haberkorn?! Was not expecting that at all! Maybe he just has so much star power, he can get away with doing whatever now!

What? How? This wasn't even finished, hope the yaoi gods see this and permit the series from getting completely adapted.

So like if I'm interested in checking it out? Can I just check this OVA? I'm a little lost.

Checking this release out would be the simplest way to sample Ai no Kusabi. Though I do feel it is more of a beautiful love letter to the novels. So you might not enjoy it as much as if you had read them. This 2012 release also doesn’t adapt the full series. The 90s OVAs do, though later Yoshihara revised the novels when the series was reprinted. The older two OVAs are a simpler way of experiencing the story. But they’ve never been licensed in English. Unfortunately trying a couple of the novels would also be more difficult since Juné the English publisher has yet to reprint them (suppose to be coming) and no one else outside of Japan that I’m aware has translated the full novel series.

Alright! Thanks for the info. I'll probably pick it up then, looks like something I would like.

OK, while this series is not for me, is this anime version actually porn like its ANN Encyclopedia entry says? It looks like it could be the same level of "porn" that a "Queen's Blade" title would become. This is possibly Todd's most awkward role (content wise).

Darren Mitchell, obvious pseudonym, though by watching the clip it's obvious who the actual actor is.
Yaoi isn't my thing but congrats to the people who are looking forward to this!

So, are we talking about soft-core or hard-core here? If it is hard core, then I think Todd would opt for an alias.

I wouldn’t really use the term porn to describe Ai no Kusabi. The OVA does have sexual content but, it is spread out around the story and I never felt it was on a graphic enough level for that descriptor. I have the subbed DVD from Media Blasters and that rates it at age 16 and older.
