I'll probably give it a try, because I rather like stories where fantasy characters encounter our world. But if all its going to be is another food porn show like Restaurant to Another World, then I'll probably drop it. There's only so much ooohing and aaaahing over food I can take before I want actual plot.

This sounds like virtually the same concept as Restaurant to Another World, if perhaps with different characters visiting. A little curious to see if it can differentiate itself or not.

Nobu has the same story concept as Restaurant to Another World; medieval people discovering the tasty wonders of modern Japanese cuisine (and beer) and oohing and aahing over it. One major difference is that Nobu's set in an izakaya, a Japanese-style gastropub. Expect to see more references to traditional Japanese cuisine/dishes (edamame beans, sashimi, grilled eel etc) and beer-drinking instead of Yoshoku-type tonkatsu, beef stew etc. Also, the circumstances of how Nobu came to be set up in the medieval world is both similar but different compared to Restaurant. Nobu's not as popular as Restaurant though. Shokudou's the 11th most popular title on Shosetsuka ni Narou, Nobu's the 100th by comparison according to this ranking chart. http://yomou.syosetu.com/rank/list/type/total_total/ |

The website has an English version. I wonder if that means there's already plans for a western release.

Well, technically, Restaurant From another World specialized in "Western" food and not Japanese food (although it became more and more 'fusion' as it went on) .
...so the difference is TREMENDOUS! more nattō, less stew. |

Yeah, like others who said before me, this sounds so much like Isekai Shokudou. I found that show to be pleasant enough for what it was and I may check this one out too. Sunrise animating it is an interesting choice, to say the least. I would like to see a PV for this before I have any more thoughts on it.

I'm pretty sure this has already been done... this year.
Someone at Sunrise was looking at Restaurant to Another World and thought, "Gee, how can we cash in on this one." |

I dunno why, but I had a feeling that an anime for this was coming up sooner or later.

Wrong, both of the anime for these were announced at around the same time, it's a coincidence. It just took longer for this to come out. I feel like both these series got anime adaptations because of the massive success of Dungeon Meshi/Delicious in Dungeon. |

I guess it would make sense for Shinobu Senke (the girl in the blue yukata) to be voiced by the same seiyuu as our lead gal in "Restaurant to Another World". Same goes if it got simuldub. |

Wasn't expecting Sunrise to do a series like this. Well, it sounds interesting so I'll check it out.
