My heart goes out to the myriad of hardworking people beside this one guy who helped bring this convention together and keep it running. I wish them the best and hope they can reemerge as a new con in the future.

Bit extreme. Was he the founder or something?

I really hate to stereotype or judge people on their looks but he really does look like a stereotypical sex offender.

He was the chairman of the convention committee. |

That sounds like someone who can be fired, instead of burning the house down. |

It's probably just better for them to create a new convention, with an entirely different name, rather than be associated with a name that now is known for having that one guy who sexually assaulted people. |

As someone who went to Anime Punch way back in the day and heard some of the stories from multiple attendees, I'm actually a bit shocked it took this long. Don't know how it's been since, but from the incident I remember hearing about, some other members of staff weren't exactly completely blame free. But then I didn't see it myself, so I could be mistaken.

He's been getting away with these things for years with the help of other people on staff. He helped found the con and was pretty much the face of the convention. Read for yourself the stuff that has happened throughout the years. https://www.facebook.com/roxasheart7/posts/10213874736849872 |

Yes, he also doesn't help with the medical bills for the skin grafts. |

Yeah, if that link to AnimePunch's "official response" is legit, then it basically tells me all I need to know about their workplace environment. |

That mugshot. Wow. Seems from what information I'm gathering through the article and stories from the thread, this wasn't too great of a setting. Hopefully some people can rally and create something new and also get some responsible people for leading the new convention while making sure conduct is held to a high standard.

Only takes one loser to ruin things for everyone. It's pity no one stood up to him and had him taken care of before this destroyed the organization.

There were a number of people who did just months before he set one of his cronies on fire. The problem was more people sided with him rather than letting their conciseness be their guides. I ought to know, I was one of those who walked out on him and the convention a week after they held the 2009 con. And you should have heard the way some people talked about him during that "meeting". You would think some of them would shout it was the second crucifixion of Christ. He has been permanently banned from the Anime Club at OSU because of his BS. |
