that's ok, tho I think this is the first reincarnation isekai we get as an anime, as opossed to being summoned and thus getting cheat skills. nvm, I forgot tanya for two reason, make this the second one then. |

IMO, Knights is one of the more unusual WN-originated titles because its plot structure panders more to the subset of mecha otaku, over the mainstream otaku crowd.
So instead of the usual fanservice homestays of ecchi/harem antics and cute girls doing cute things, the fanservice focus is on the mecha upgrading, research and development. And big mecha battles too. It's one of those "world improvement" type isekais, in a way. There is little romance/harem, as it's all about the mechs. The author's WN profile says he's "something of a collaborative novelist, likes works with giant weapons(?) as the main theme, and will live and die for mecha." 兼業小説家のような何か。 巨大人型兵器をテーマとした作品を好む。メックと共に生き、メックと共に死ぬが定め。 His Twitter also showcases quite a few mecha figurines too. I wasn't going to pay attention to this when I saw the chara designs and thought the MC had been reincarnated as a girl. But then it turned out he just has a really pretty face, and my interest came back.
A while after that, I started wondering whether I'm sexist. 
The mechs look cool though. When was the last time we got medieval mechs? Since Escaflowne in 1996? |

for a guy, the main protagonist has features that would make him the best waifu character, the way he dresses does not help either.
