So despite the original series being published by Shueisha, the spinoff is being published by Kodansha? What's up with that?

Well I guess Kondansha is better at handling the light novels than Shueisha. So, that's ehy
I hope they bring the manga adaptation to the U.S. though.

This is great! These light novels are just as good as the manga, and it's nice to see them get more attention.
