Here's to another summer of swordfighting, magic, and...well, bouncing with the Senran Kagura crew! After watching the trailer, I now have an appetite for flan...

I'm glad that we're getting some real art on the Switch.

Honestly if Nintendo of America said they were planning on stopping censorship on Japanese games, I would go out and buy a Switch immediately. As it stands now though, they have a track record I refuse to support.

Senran Kagura only censors ages in the profiles in all releases on all platforms, other than that you get the same experience as the JP version. What you need to worry about is Yoru no nai Kuni 2, considering the premise (yuri) and the symbolic and very artistically done nudity.

Oh I was mostly just referring to in general. I'm totally OK with censorship of ages or censoring a few images like Atlus did with Dungeon Travelers 2. But removal of entire story elements or game mechanics like in Mirage Sessions and FE Fates is totally unacceptable. If they don't censor Yoru no nai Kuni 2 like you mentioned though, that would be a wonderful sign for the future.

I know they edited costumes and a few scenes in Mirage Sessions
But they edited virtually nothing story related or anything of significant consequence in Fates. And realistically choosing to boycott them over it accomplishes nothing ultimately.

^You mean besides petting, costumes, and changing entire support convos/personalities?
From what I hear Persona 5 has an amazing localization and kept all the dark/sexual stuff in, sucks #fe couldnt be on a Sony console. Can't imagine why the American direct skipped this HD rumble boobie segment

Yeah, the ire drawn over what little was changed in Fates was so many kitten farts in the wind considering Fates went on to be the best selling Fire Emblem game ever. Sure is an attempt at killing your franchise when you move 300,000 copies in less than a week. Some boycott. I'm tempted to believe some alleged "boycotters" went and quietly got the game anyway after deciding they needed their Camilla fix
I don't wanna snark at Senran Kagura, because it's no bones if this game just isn't for me, but what I wanna know is... if the point of this game is to enjoy boobs being breasts... why aren't they examining how breasts actually work and not balloons and pudding?

Uh... They removed entire gameplay sequences, completely changed characters into entirely different tropes, and added memes and things to dialog that nowhere near existed in the Japanese dialog.
Not sure which game you were referring to, but Fates obviously wasn't it.

Or they just imported or played a fansub version. Kinda scary to see someone say the edits were justified because of sales. That's the logic companies try to use for Hollywood anime adaptions, or censored anime dubs. If you got to change so much to make it popular in America, maybe it aint meant to be popular in America. But hey, Persona 5 was also the best selling Persona game... so... clearly needing a censored localization isnt always the key to success.
