Wow, that's sure a boring pose. Not entirely sure why so many full size figures tend to have super boring poses. Maybe a technical thing, I dunno. But both Ram and Rem have fairly boring full size figure designs and Megumi Katou from Saekano got a pretty lame one too. The Kabaneri one is the only really great looking one I can think of. I would've thought that if anything was worth going all out for design wise, it'd be a full size figure.

As much as I like Rem (and Ram) these figures all look really dull/boring. Should be combat Rem.

Imagining having the life size figures of both Rem and Ram It would be glorious.

A statement that comes not without its controversy, surely! Were any complaints registered at the office in question? |

Must've been hard to save some space, I mean, they're all basically just standing straight.

Finally some love for Ram; i actually prefer her over Rem,a shame she doesn't get as much attention. And as others mentioned, that pose is pretty boring.

About time Ram got some love with the figures! However, she could stand to have a more dynamic pose...

"why isn't there more Ram hype?" Ram has already been presented to be openly intimate (at least to the viewership) with Roswaal, she is disdainful of Subaru at best and possibly hostile depending on the context, she seemed to be selected for the full size treatment only based on the fact that she is a "twin sister" and not necessarily on character popularity.
In the story, Ram is a decently established character, but plainly she is not meant to be a fan favorite by any means. |

Agreed, the Mumei full-size figure definitely stands out among its peers. But it also had the highest price tag (US$24,887). |

That's true. I imagine that is probably part of the reason they don't go for more creative designs. Even so, if I had $15k to spend on a life size figure, I feel like I would be able to pull together $25k for one. lol But maybe I am under-estimating Otaku in Japan. It's possible there are typical salarymen saving up their salary for years to buy something like this. |

Author was surprised at Rem's popularity, which means he didn't have popularity in mind when he created her. |

I am unsure of her popularity based on the original LN format, but it is pretty clear Rem in the anime had a noticeable push once she comes into the story. Even if the author never intended for Rem to get more noticed that his story lead, it is very clear whoever was in charge of the anime treated her part like as a principle character and wanted to make her the fandoms next favorite meido waifu. |

The director actually said explicitly that he prefers Emilia and wanted to do his best to convey how lovely she was in the show so that fans would appreciate her. You can only do so much when the actual story is prioritizing Rem though, and she isn't even in significant chunks of it. I don't know how the author feels, but all that's clear to me is that he felt Rem's story arc was necessary for the story, and probably more importantly for Subaru's personal development. I won't pretend that no one thought Rem was marketable, but I don't think that pushing her on the fans was the author's priority, and it definitely wasn't the director's priority. When asked which character is the real heroine: "Watanabe: That’s a tough question. People will get mad at me no matter who I say (laughs). But I suppose that Rem’s role in the story is that of a sub-heroine, while Emilia is the main heroine. I directed episode 1 myself and did as much as I could to enhance her presence in the scenes to make up for her lack of screen time. I’d change her outfits and made sure she gave off a strong impression. As far as I’m concerned, the heroine is Emilia, but perhaps nobody will believe me when I say that. After all, Rem clearly acts more like a heroine (laughs). But please don’t forget the scenes that showcase Emilia as the heroine (laughs)." |
