This seems like a bad idea, to compare their popularity so openly. Is it just me?

With so many voice actors competing for so limited space, the contest is bound to get cutthroat...perhaps to unhealthy levels...

This certainly won't be an accurate ranking, that's for sure. I highly doubt many agencies will allow their popular talents to appear, and it's not likely many would even want to appear on the program either.
For example, Kamiya Hiroshi is arguably one of the most popular seiyuu in the biz, but he's a very humble guy and I cannot imagine him OKing the usage of his name or face for a popularity contest.

I dont need this. I only interested with their talent even if they are less known voice actor/actress.

Well, for popularity, Kana Hanazawa is the most liked seiyuu on MyAnimeList with over 31,000 fans.

... So, Kamiya Hiroshi and Hanazawa Kana are just gonna win this?
I'm actually quite curious to see the rankings, actually. While there are some obvious names that will be included, like Miyano and the Love Live seiyuus, I wonder who are the popular up-and-coming seiyuus. Though of course whether they're ranked for actual voice acting or a bunch of other things (looks, singing etc) remains to be seen.

I don't think it will be a disastrous as people make it out to be, because there are yearly Seiyuu and Voice Actor awards. And lets not forget magazines and websites that always do Top 10 Lists. Only difference is this will be on a grander scale.
P.S. Think this was pre-recorded. I think this might've been mentioned on Aya Hirano's Instagram. I'll leave the news hounds to scoop it out.

Everyone are just fledglings compared to the legendary Koyasu Takehito!

Frankly, I'm curious if they're going by fanvote or simply by how 'known' they are.
I'm hoping for veteran actors like Hayashibara Megumi or Koyasu Takehito getting it, since they voiced some familiar voices in older anime, and some recent as well.

How many voted for Aya Hirano? is the question.

Watching the program now and it's a top 25 ranking as ranked by 200 seiyuu.
And basically it's turned into a ranking of seiyuu veterans. Don't think we'll find anyone under 50 on this list. ^^;
EDIT: And then suddenly at #14 we get Suwabe Junichi. XDDD
EDIT2: Morikawa at #12. Not surprising considering he's in the audience.
EDIT3: Seki Tomokazu at #5, Sawashiro Miyuki at #4, and #1 was Yamadera Kouichi.
Sawashiro's the youngest of the group, and the average age of all those listed must be in the 50s. ^^;
