I'm actually really surprised that Aoharu got perishable! I'm by no means a fan of airsoft, but I really liked the dynamics of the characters. (So much so that I started reading the manga afterwards too, which is rare for me!) I mean, it's definitely a negative that the show has a somewhat incomplete ending, but it's still worth watching. Maybe the dub was just bad enough? (I haven't watched with the dub, so no comment on that).

That anime collection is small, but it has most of the important stuff. From the classic stuff I recommend buying Cowboy Bebop, Death Note, Evangelion and Utena (tv series). And from the newer stuff, get Madoka Magica, Death Parade, From the New World, Kill la Kill and Blood Blockade Battlefront.
I apologize if you already have the shows I mentioned. I know that you were not asking for my opinion, but I thought I would give a few recommendations from a fellow collector to another. |

Might be a bit difficult for a highschooler to get the funds to pick up Madoka Magica and Kill la Kill (though the Madoka movies are 50% off on Righstuf right now). Great collection! Definitely lots of great stuff there 
Intrigued that Death Parade is out now; when that first came out, i didn't want to watch it because the premise sounded so depressing. It seems like that may be a thematic point though. I know that the more critic-ey critics of ANN loved it, so i'll probably pick it up somewhere. |

That collection is great, I don't know what she's complaining about! Ok, yes, some of the people collecting hardcore for like, 20+ years have more intimidating collections, but she has a ton of bluray combo packs and art boxes and LEs, I've been collecting for maybe 14 years and I don't think I have that many LEs. I definitely have more manga though (more than most people in general, lol).
I got vol of Aoharu manga on a complete whim, I literally had no clue what the premise was whatsoever (I really need to read the back of things more often), but I was really quite surprised on how much I enjoyed it. Doesn't necessarily mean it got the anime translation well (an all too common occurrence), but I enjoyed vol 1 of the manga and do plan to read more. I don't really care about the not-quite-paintball thing (though using paintballs would probably solve some problems in their universe), but I did find it interesting and it didn't lose me right away in too much about the sport (like Welcome to the Ballroom honestly did, it overwhelmed me with ballroom dancing stuff and forgot to tell me more about the characters) and I enjoyed the character dynamic (as Iridescent_Fall said above) |

Not completely. I saw the Nagi-Asu CE and Tordora on that shelf. Last I checked Nagi-Asu was close to 150 on Rightstuf (which is the reason I haven't snagged it yet), and Toradora was easily about 100 or so. That being said she mostly likely saved for those, or caught them on sale somewhere. Either way good on her. 
Death Parade was an awesome show, easily one of the best from last year. I just got my set a little awhile ago in the mail. Glad to see it also came with the Death Billiards short, which was basically like the pilot for the show. It can be a bit depressing, but it's also surprisingly heartwarming and thoughtful at times. I recommend it. |

Anime is interesting; I have several hundred titles but only one from this list. Sure, I've seen most of them but... Ok, to be honest, I'd own Madoka if I didn't have to take out a loan to pay for it. My collection has quite a bit more in common with the shelves in question though, including Toradora and a Lull in the Sea. My advice is, as always, to watch as much as you can, buy the best of what you like. Would I recommend any particular titles? Not a chance. Like movies, I can recommend genre titles but never general examples. Otherwise, you end up with "Any classic has to be as good as Citizen Kane... or Evangelion... or it's nothing!" offerings. |

From the sounds of it, I'm glad I got Madoka on Bluray when it was originally released. I mean they weren't super cheap but they were around the market price for most series now (~$50 per volume). I'd have to check myself but it sounds like it is way more now.

I would love to support the franchise but seriously $70 per volume? The licensed version is pricier ofcourse than the orig BD release, but my money can only hold on paid streaming
Aoharu was decent, at first I dont know what kind of audience're they aiming at there were plenty of fanservices(girls are sexualized, Yuri, BL and stuffs for gun maniacs) + decent plot |

Emma. that is a great collection! Having a computer to discover and watch your future favorite shows will be a big help. I suggest a Crunchyroll Premium+ membership for your Christmas wish list. But be very proud of all of your LE's and artboxes; these pictures show awesome love and are even more impressive because you are 17. It is wonderful to see young fans growing into this hobby, and never, ever worry about being judged or unworthy as a collector for what you have accomplished.
Any others feeling intimidated or nervous, please submit your shelves! This place a fun weekly get together for our community, and all collectors of varying degrees therein, where we can all celebrate and be proud of our hobbies. |

Impressive to see another OSTW with the entire list consisting of releases that have both subs and dubs. Got my eye on that God Eater Blu-Ray. I want to hear the dub.
@Emma: You're doing a fantastic job so far. Keep on trucking with adding anime to your ever-growing list. At your age, more than three hundred anime completed is quite impressive. |

I didn't watch much of Aoharu, it just didn't appeal to me all that much. I don't know if anyone can relate in this regard, but I find that all anime that feature my hobbies (airsoft being one of those) frustrate me more than they appeal to me, it's to obvious when people are 'doing it wrong' and it's evident that the people who are making the show have never actually played it.

@Emma - A collection should be less about size and more about how much you enjoy each item you own. You'll appreciate your collection a lot more if you add items that you truly want and not those impulse buys that you can get for cheap. As you age, so too will your tastes, and you will likely find that things that you once enjoyed no longer entertain you. It's at that point where, unless you have unlimited space, you should let that item go.
As a long time collector, I find it helps to really ask yourself how much you want a particular item before you buy. If I find myself thinking about how great it would be to own it, check the website multiple times a day, etc., that's how I know what to buy and what to avoid. |

I've been collecting for about the same amount of time as you, and moving got to be more and more of a hassle because I'd need more boxes every time. When somebody started collecting also makes a difference because things like 12-episode sets being standard have changed the amount of space needed. A friend's wife was surprised to find out that Evangelion was only 26 episodes when she saw the platinum release discs on my shelf. She had no idea that 3 or 4 episodes on a disc used to be normal. |

Yeah, it's great to see. Already picked up Sidonia S2's limited edition, Death Parade, and God Eater. Got Sakura Wars and Rideback back when they came out. Same here, God Eater getting a dub gave me another excuse to pick it up despite the price. The dub cast list is so good. I'm interested in checking out Aoharu (and its dub) eventually as well since Hotaru seems like an interesting, slightly different than usual heroine/MC. |
