Awesome! I missed the original screening but I won't miss this one and even though I've seen this movie about a hundred times I'm still excited for this. Very Happy

If I have time then I'll go. Already saw it when it was first released so I'm no rush to watch it. I still remember that day pretty clearly.

I guess this is what people mean when they say people are seriously wrapped up in 90's nostalgia; it's like my childhood is on loop! Anime hyper

I still have vivid memories of seeing this as a kid as well, but I think it'd be fun to bask in the nostalgia with the right group of people.

But wait there's more! Catch mew two in front of a random cinema before the film starts and get free access for you and for friends when you caught one!

Or something incoming...

So why are they playing Pikachu's Vacation with this special screening but they couldn't release it on the Blu Ray?

It's too bad the English-dubbed version of Mewtwo Strikes Back completely misses the moral of the story and tries to replace it with a complete hypocritical one. Because otherwise, it's a good movie, and even the dub VAs do a pretty good job (always enjoyed Veronica Taylor, Rachael Lillis, and Eric Stuart). Unfortunately also, they used replacement music, when the Japanese score is excellent.

Feel the pain your parent's felt years ago when you dragged them into the theaters with you Laughing

I hear alot about how the dub botched the original point of the movie and I'd be more excited if they fixed that but I sincerely doubt that'd be the case

The first movie and the third were the best. I just wish they would do remakes before they put the movie in theaters.

They should include the Origin of Mewtwo short since it is now part of the movie. The Pikachu shorts are a waste of time and animation budget.

Funny story: as a kid I was terrified of the dark generally and movie theaters specifically. I didn't see the first one because of that fear. But when the second movie came out, my love of Pokémon cards and refusal to miss another one of these *amazing* films trumped my fear of the dark, and it motivated me to go. I was never afraid of the theater after that, and I gave up my night light soon after.

Bottom line: even if the Pokémon movies don't hold up story-wise as an adult, I am grateful for them.

Really glad my town has a Cinemark and is running the movie. I hope my husband and I can go; I got to see it in theaters when it first ran, and being able to see it on the big screen again would be amazing.

The only thing I'm a bit disappointed in is that likely we aren't going to be seeing the Origin of Mewtwo story, since it wasn't part of the original dub movie despite actually being part of the movie itself. But ah well; there's always YouTube for watching it (although it's a crappy upload) and one of these days I'll try to find Mewtwo Returns on DVD that has it as an extra. But watching the adorable Pikachu short will be awesome; I'm disappointed to hear that it's not on the re-released movies, which I was considering to buy - I don't have many of the Pokemon movies on my shelf; my family never did upgrade our copies from VHS to DVD, and now those VHS tapes are pretty ratty and damaged - but now I may go on the hunt for the original copies instead.
