"this is how fast you fall in love..."
I gotta say, ADV knows how to take my money. Honestly though, that trailer was so beautiful...hell I'm even crying a little right now. Here's to hoping it gets released fairly soon, since this has been on my to buy list since the moment I heard, "Makoto Shinkai's latest work." Yup, that got my attention. Time for some music: yo tenia una esperanza, en el foldo de mi alma que un dia te quedaras tu conmigo. P.S. sorry about the lack of accents, don't know how to work that with my keyboard. Also whoever gets what song that line is from and the artist gets a cookie. |

Yeah, the video was beautiful, and the words of the narration match the movie well.
However, I hope the VAs for the English cast sound better than the narrators did; the sound of their voices didn't feel right at all, IMHO. |

I only had a problem with the male narrator at the beginning, since he sounded a lot like piccolo to me for some reason. Other than that, it was good. |

This is one I too have been looking forward to for what seems like forever. I can't wait to buy this!
His art/animation seems more refined with every effort, which is amazing as it was always stellar. |

I only caught the first part of this movie before it was licensed and all I know is I WANT IT!
It's so beautiful...the writing, the music, the characters. Makoto Shinkai continues to earn more and more of my respect. If the first 30 minutes is any indication, this will be a classic (at least for me) One thing, the guy sounded kind of like Crispin Freeman. Or am I crazy? I wonder if those two are the voices for when they get older...hmmm. |

Oh man I watched 5cm/s so many times...first at Anime Expo, and then at Otakon. And then several times afterwards on not-so-legitimate formats. Hurry up ADV and announce a release date so I can get this one on DVD.
And while they're at it, can someone PLEASEEEE license The Girl Who Leapt Through Time. |

Oh, if you liked the trailer just wait until you see the film. I had the good luck to be able to see it last weekend when it played in Seattle and it's incredible. I am not a big fan of Monica Rial and I think that was her in the trailer though I'm not sure. I really hope she does not end up voicing any of the main characters in this but since she is a mainstay in the ADV voice actor line up I suppose there is a good chance she will. I don't hate everything she has done however, so if she does get cast in this I'll just hope it turns out well. |

If you're talking about 5cm per Second, the final cast list for the movie is here http://www.animeondvd.com/forum/showtopic.php?tid/23993/
Monica Rial isn't in it - at least not in a major role. The voice in the trailer sounds like Hillary Haag (and she's listed as being in the cast). Now, if you're talking Moon Phase, Monica Rial does play the lead female in it FWIW. |

Ugh.. I don't know what to think. Eh, I'll just spit it out- I don't like the English cast.
I had the fortunate chance (as well as ManOfRust and some others on the website) to see the screening three times in Seattle (the third time being the most powerful I must say). The Japanese version touched me a lot more than this trailer. I didn't get the feel of realism while watching this, and the acting seemed like it was from a porno; especially when he said "5 Centimeters Per Second" at the end... hmm. Heh, to each his own. But I am glad that ADV launched the website, that means it's getting closer to release! /j |

One thing that's always difficult for as someone who enjoys subs/dubs equally is wether or not I'll watch it subbed or dubbed the first time through. I might watch it subbed just to stay on the safe side but.....oh I really like Hilary Haag. To quote abunai from a previous post of his: "I am disconsolate, truly. P.S. Now I can't watch the trailer with a straight face anymore.
